Athlete Guide

Important / Need to Know

Important information for all runners. Please read through this before race day.

Cut-Offs & Dropping Out
25K: There is no cut-off time, but this is a challenging course and not one to do “off the couch.”

50K: 10:30 AM at 25K/Wedge and 12:30 PM at approximately 33.5K/Jeff's. If you miss a cut-off you will wait with the aid-station crew for transport back to the finish. Drop-outs must report to the closest aid station or event staff so we do not start looking for you or initiate a SAR call-out.
What to Carry
At this time nothing is mandatory to carry. Weather in the mountains can be unpredictable, so come prepared for anything. Items may become mandatory for the 50K depending on the forecast, such as a rain jacket. We will advise runners before race day if that changes.
Poles
Poles are not recommended for either the 25K or 50K, but they are optional.
Headphones
Use low volume or one ear only. A lot of the course is singletrack and you need to be aware of runners wanting to pass, mountain bikers and wildlife. Whistler is home to bears and cougars.
Spectators & Crew
Spectators are not allowed on the shuttle bus to the start and parking at Wedge is extremely limited. Most spectators skip the start and head to Spruce Grove Park. On the 50K, outside aid may only be given at the 25K mark back at Wedge. There are a few additional viewing options on the first half of the 50K, but much of the Comfortably Numb section is remote and difficult to access. Please do not ride the Comfortably Numb trail to see your runner.
Dogs
Dogs are not allowed to accompany runners on course. Dogs on leash are allowed at the race start and finish.
Timing & 25K Wave Starts
Zone4 timing is used for the race. Runners pick up timing chips at package pickup and return them at the finish. If you drop out, your chip must still be returned to the finish; unreturned chips incur a $75 fee.

The 25K has two wave starts: 7:50 AM Front–Mid Pack and 7:53 AM Mid–Back Pack.
Elite Runners
Elite runners may submit an entry request by email with race results from the past two years. Complimentary entry is assessed case by case depending on past results and whether the race is sold out or closed. Requests must be made at least seven days before the event. Email charlotte@endurancespecific.com.
Volunteers
Yes please! We cannot host this race without volunteers. Your supporters may be able to help while waiting for you to finish. Volunteer here.
Race Photos
We have professional photographers on course. Photos are free to download after the race for personal use. We endeavour to photograph as many runners as possible but cannot guarantee everyone will be captured.
